What is a haiku?
- Most simply, it is a non-rhyming poem with only three lines and seventeen syllables.
- The first line is usually 5 syllables, the second is 7, and the last line is 5 again.
- A good haiku evokes the time of year or seasons, suggests an emotion, and tells a story.
